Traits
Oculon
Ability Score Increases:
Intelligence +2, Dexterity +1
Creature Type:
Aberration
Size:
Small (About 2 feet in diameter)
Speed:
- Hover: 30 ft. (You can hover but cannot rise more than 6 feet off the ground.)
- Ground Speed: 5 ft.
Racial Features:
Darkvision
You have Darkvision out to 120 feet. You can see in darkness as if it were dim light and in dim light as if it were bright light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Eyestalks (4)
Your four eyestalks each serve a different function:
- Mage Hands (2 Stalks) - You have two mage hands that allow you to manipulate objects as a humanoid would with normal hands. These function as the Mage Hand cantrip, except their lifting capacity is twice your Strength score in pounds.
- Wounding Ray (1 Stalk) - As an action, you can fire a ray of necrotic energy at one creature you can see within 30 feet. The target must make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier). On a failure, the target takes 2d6 necrotic damage (half as much on a success).
- Disguise Ray (1 Stalk) - You can cast Disguise Self, but it only affects your body from the neck down. This means the illusion takes on a humanoid form, but your floating, eye-covered head remains visible.
Natural Armor
Due to your small size and maneuverability, your body provides an inherent defense. When you are not wearing armor, your AC is 12 + your Dexterity modifier. You can benefit from magical items that enhance AC, such as rings, cloaks, or custom harnesses.
Limited Telepathy
You can communicate telepathically with any creature within 30 feet that understands at least one language, though it does not need to share one with you.
Spell Reflection (Reaction)
When you succeed on a saving throw against a spell, or a spell attack misses you, you can use your reaction to reflect some of that magic. Choose one creature you can see within 30 feet. That creature takes 1d6 + your proficiency bonus force damage.
Languages:
You can speak, read, and write Deep Speech and Undercommon, and you can communicate telepathically with creatures within 30 feet.
